Climate Impact Checkup: A carbon footprint tool for healthcare

Wednesday 14 July 2021

Climate Impact Checkup is a unique tool developed for any health care facility in the world to calculate and track their greenhouse gas emissions.

Developed by Health Care Without Harm, the calculator estimates the carbon footprint of health facilities from data collected on energy, transport, asthma inhalers, waste and gases relevant to the sector. The tool:

  • Provides a starting point to measure, manage, and support mitigation goals and action planning
  • Allows health facilities to benchmark their footprint against similar facilities in their country, region, and globally
  • Provides graphics and reports to aid communication and reporting

Climate Impact Checkup is exclusively for members of the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network, coordinated by CAHA in the Pacific region. The tool is accesible through GGHH Connect, the network's online collaboration platform.

If your health institution is not yet a GGHH member, join the network! Membership is free and open to hospitals, health and aged care services and facilities, and health organisations.
