Meet the 2021 Health Care Climate Champions

Thursday 10 February 2022

The Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network is honored to recognise over 50 institutions who are the 2021 Climate Champions of the Health Care Climate Challenge.

Over the last two years we have seen the health care sector and health care professionals standing with bravery and perseverance on the front lines of the pandemic to treat and protect their communities. While serving in this demanding and difficult time, hospitals, health systems and health care facilities around the world are remaining steadfast and elevating their commitments and efforts to address an unparalleled threat to public and environmental health: climate change.

Spread across 14 countries, these Health Care Climate Champions are stepping up as global leaders in the transformation to a sustainable, climate-smart health care sector. They are setting ambitious targets to mitigate their emissions and achieving remarkable progress towards these goals. They are working with their facilities and communities to stand resilient to a changing climate. They are using their voice and purchasing power to advocate for climate action and low carbon economies.

We commend and applaud their commitments and achievements and look forward to their continued success, and that of all the participants of our Health Care Climate Challenge.
