NT Election 2020: sign the petition for action on heat & climate

Rising temperatures and heat in the Northern Territory are a serious threat to health.

Health and social welfare groups, along with NT-based health professionals, are calling on the NT government and all NT election candidates to commit to:

  • urgently implementing a comprehensive Heat-Health Action Plan
  • adopting a Climate Change Act for the Northern Territory to facilitate rapid decarbonisation and limit the impacts of climate change on human health
  • improving sustainability in healthcare

You can read the full briefing and its policy recommendations here: Northern Territory Election Briefing: Heat, Climate Change, Health and the Need for Urgent Action

Urgent action is required to reduce the community health impacts of extreme heat and climate change in the Territory. I call on the NT government and all NT election candidates to commit to urgent action on heat and climate change to protect health.
